3 full layers.  Middle layer of 1/2" thick silica insulation.  Rated at 1800 degrees continuous and ability for short excursions to 3000 degrees.
*This material has been thoroughly tested in the performance diesel market.  Even with excess of 2000 degrees EGT's, you can still touch the top of the blanket without even coming close to being burned.  If you try that with a factory heat shield or cheaper inferior blanket, do it in the hospital burn unit parking lot.
*Don't be fooled by other blankets advertising 1" thick insulation.  It doesn't matter whether it's 1" thick or 10" thick if the material isn't up to the task. Do you want a blanket to do the job right and last the life of your turbo?  You found it.
